Whether you’re going on vacation, or simply need 10 days to recharge, Fox Subacute can care for your loved one through our respite care program. When planning for respite care, it is important to keep the following in mind:
- Involve your loved one. – Make sure they understand why you will be away and for how long. Reassure them that they are in good care at Fox Subacute and that they will benefit from socializing with other people.
- Assess your needs. – Make a list of what care is required in your absence. Also provide us insight to your family member’s preferences including their likes and dislikes.
- Stay organized.– Keep track of medication schedules and any doctor appointments your loved one needs while you are away so that our respite care staff can act accordingly. Fox Subacute’s admissions specialists will coordinate all physician orders to ensure the care you expect will be provided.
Through the respite care program, your loved one will be on a “vacation” too. Taking a break from the daily routine is good for the spirit and great for your relationship.
